About

The Arts Ambassadors student organization serves as the bridge between the arts and the University of Michigan Central and North Campus student population. This organization creates opportunities for students to explore, appreciate, and create various forms of art. We’re looking for enthusiastic and friendly students who have an interest in the arts that they want to share! Being a part of the Arts Ambassadors student organization is an extremely rewarding, engaging, and fun experience! Active members can expect to participate in regular meetings and events, and contribute to our biweekly Press Play feature in the Arts at Michigan newsletter. You will have opportunities to take leadership roles in organizing arts events, collaborate with other Arts Ambassadors to engage students in the arts, and most importantly, help cultivate a campus community that values the arts.

The Arts Ambassadors provide biweekly suggestions on how to Press Play and engage with the arts through something to listen to, something to make, and somewhere to go.

The press play theme for this week is work hard! Finish out the semester strong and motivate yourself with a ted talk about grit, or some jams to study to. Take a break and fuel your body with a fun study snack like apple slice nachos or chex mis. Finally, study in a new location and come by UMMA study days for a change of pace and some fun activities to do for study breaks!

Past Resources

Nostalgia

Our theme this week was Nostalgia. Take some time to reminisce and throwback to your childhood.

Reset

This week was all about resetting our minds as we return from a much-needed break. Take time to practice mindfulness with a guided meditation or podcast, take a guided tour of the arb to soak up the sun, and try out bullet journaling for a new and creative way to set goals and relax.

Selection Process

We encourage any U-M student who is interested in joining to apply, regardless of major or experience with the arts. Applicants will be selected based on the information provided on the Arts Ambassador application. Tell us about your personal background, experience, and interest in being a part of our organization. Benefits and Experience

Arts Ambassadors will gain great experience and resume building opportunities such as leadership, event planning, marketing, and arts administration experience. You'll also get great perks like attending arts events and Ambassador-only arts experiences. Best of all, becoming an Arts Ambassador is a great way to meet new people and get connected to lots of creative resources on campus and in the Ann Arbor community!
